▎Measure water absorption
The ceramic tile is fired at high temperature. The higher the firing temperature, the stronger the chemical reaction and physical change, so the density of the ceramic tile is higher; of course, the density of the ceramic tile is not only related to the firing temperature, but also closely related to the raw material formula.
Why measure water absorption?
Because the water absorption rate not only determines the density of the tiles, but also has a very important property, which is the anti-fouling ability. The lower the water absorption rate, the better the anti-fouling ability of the ceramic tile; relatively poor.
▎Look at the flatness
Specific implementation:
①The common method is to merge the two tiles face to face and the four sides neatly, and then observe the size of the gap in the middle. It should be noted that this method is not suitable for glazed tiles;
②Measure the length of the two diagonal sides of the brick with the reference object as shown in the figure, and then compare the two measurement results to see how much the deviation is.
The effect of flatness: If the flatness of the tiles is not good, then the tiles will be uneven after construction, and the specific performance will be that people walking on the brick surface will have kicking phenomenon.
▎Look at the hardness
This is relatively simple. You can use a coin to scratch the surface of the brick with a little force. If there are obvious scratches, the hardness of the tile is poor; on the contrary, if there is no obvious scratch, the hardness of the tile is excellent. .
