What is the difference between floor tile paving and wall tile paving?
What is the difference between floor tile paving and wall tile paving? When we renovate the house, the utilization rate of tiles is very high. Walls and floors are often tiled in large areas, as are bathrooms. There are many ways to lay tiles, and there are different methods for laying floor tiles and wall tiles. So, what is the difference between floor tiles and wall tiles?
1. Different immersion:
Floor tiles are usually ceramic tiles, such as full body tiles and vitrified tiles. Since the water absorption rate of the tiles is less than 0.5%, there is no need to soak them before laying.
Wall tiles have high water content and should be fully watered and soaked before pasting. It can be used after soaking for at least 20 minutes, so as to prevent the moisture in the mortar from being quickly absorbed and condensed by the dry base layer and tiles, which will affect the bonding fastness. In addition, the water absorption rate of each brand of wall tiles is also different. It is recommended that the owner choose the wall tiles of the top ten ceramic brands Langma.
2. Different directions:
When affixing floor tiles, it should be affixed from the inside to the outside. If the ground has a slope or floor drain, the slope should be found according to the drainage direction.
Wall tiles should be pasted from the bottom up. For aesthetics, the bottom tile should be pasted. After the wall tiles are pasted, the floor tiles are pressed. If it is half a watt, it should be lowered as much as possible. Also, one wall at a time cannot be attached to the top to prevent the tiles from collapsing under the weight.
3. Different volume ratios
For laying floor tiles, a volume ratio of cement mortar of 1:2.5 should be used. The mortar should be dry and then kneaded into balls by hand. The thickness of the bonding layer shall not be less than 12MM, and the mortar shall be full and shall not be hollow. The cement uniformly uses 32.5R cement.
32.5R cement is also used for laying wall tiles. The volume ratio of cement mortar is generally 1:1-1:2.5 (pure cement mortar can also be used), and the bonding thickness is 6-10mm.

4. Different seams
The crosshairs should be drawn horizontally and vertically before the tiles are applied. When applying glue, the horizontal and vertical seams must ensure that no wrong seam is allowed. Floor tile joint width should be 1mm, not more than 2MM. If the floor tile error exceeds 1 mm, after the user's signature, the width of the brick joint should be 2 mm, not more than 3 mm. Check it out anytime.
When sticking wall tiles, the joint should not be larger than 1 mm. When sticking wall tiles, the horizontal and vertical seams must be completely connected. It is strictly forbidden to stagger the wall tiles by more than 1mm, and the width of the brick joints should be adjusted to 2mm.
The above is about the difference between floor tiles and wall tiles. In addition, when laying wall tiles, pay attention to the following two points: Before laying strip tiles on the wall, check whether the size is coordinated with the size of the wall tiles. The lower opening of the lower brick is not less than 80mm from the ground, and the upper brick is 1800mm away from the ground; after the upper wall bricks, fill in the upper gap with grouting to prevent the wall bricks from cracking when drilling holes in the gusset ceiling.
