Natural stones are known all over the world for their luxurious aesthetics. But the noble look comes with a high price. This is no wonder, because the extraction, transportation and installation of natural stone is costly. Until now, anyone wanting to stand out from the crowd with fancy building materials had to turn to natural stone.

However, a lot has happened in the industry in recent years. Innovative production technologies and manufacturing processes have paved the way for new types of products. The result is sintered stone.

Sintered Stones are made of natural stone, but have some properties that make them real high flyers compared to natural stone.

In German-speaking countries, sintered stone slabs are also often marketed under the term porcelain stoneware.

But what are Sintered Stones and what makes them so special?

Sintered Stones are made of natural materials and are therefore super suitable to use them in the kitchen as a work surface. Food can be cut directly on the work surface because Sintered Stones are extremely scratch resistant and food safe. Unlike quartz composites, Sintered Stones offer significantly higher heat resistance which makes them the tool of choice, especially in professional environments. For example, an induction stove can be mounted under the slabs, which heats the induction-capable cookware through the stone slab.

Unlike natural stone, the smooth surface has no open pores through which water can penetrate inside. This ensures a hygienic working environment and easy-care handling.

The low water absorption rate also offers decisive advantages in other areas of application. One example is use in the bathroom. In combination with the high slip resistance, Sintered Stones are the perfect alternative to conventional tiles. Whether on the wall or as a floor, Sintered Stones provide a particularly refined look thanks to elaborate patterns and large-area formats.

The weather-resistant stone slabs can also show their strength outdoors! As curtain walls with rear ventilation, the stone slabs provide an aesthetic appearance and are very easy to implement. Sintered Stones have a very high density, which is why a 6mm slab has the same stability as a 35mm granite slab. Therefore, when building exteriors with Sintered Stones, it is possible to use much lower thicknesses than with natural stone. This saves both space and weight.

Another advantage is the high UV resistance. This ensures that our sintered stones, which are available in over 2000 different designs, retain their rich colors and intricate marbling over decades and can be admired in their full glory.

In addition to personal motifs, collective aspects such as global sustainability are increasingly penetrating people's consciousness. Sintered Stones do a lot better here than the long-established natural stone industry.

Sintered Stones are not removed from the earth and therefore do not leave behind kilometer-long stone deserts. Flora and fauna are thus effectively protected.

The fragments resulting from the production of natural stone, which are normally transported away to end up as construction waste in landfills, are ground and pressed into slabs in the production of Sintered Stones to create a durable and sustainable building material that can be used in numerous areas of application.

Sintered stones are therefore an interesting alternative to natural stones which, apart from a lower price, also have many other distinctive advantages that make them worth considering.
