Some customers often ask about the difference between sintered stone and quartz. I have summarized and differentiated these two materials from five aspects. I hope it will be helpful for you to understand and compare, and choose the most suitable material for your market.
Quartz is currently one of the most used materials in the kitchen and bathroom space. Its appearance and performance are relatively balanced, and it is deeply loved by consumers. Sintered stone is a new type of material that has just become popular in the past several years. The difference between quartz and sintered stone is as follows.

1. Different ingredients
The main components of sintered stone are natural stone powder, clay and so on. The main components of quartz are natural quartz sand, resin and curing agent.
2. The production environment is different
The sintered stone is fired by a 30,000-ton press at a high temperature of more than 1,200 degrees Celsius. Quartz is made by vacuum pressing with a press and then heat-cured.
3. The appearance is different
Sintered stone is mainly of large size, the thickness is usually 3mm 6mm 9mm 12mm, 15mm, 20mm,, and the veining is close to natural stone. Quartz is rich in appearance and color, but its veining is very different from natural stone, and the thickness is usually 20mm, 30mm.
4. Different performance
Sintered stone has excellent comprehensive performance, waterproof, fireproof, high temperature resistance (1200), low temperature resistance, high concentration acid and alkali resistance, pollution resistance, wear resistance, impact resistance, no food contact, no radiation, environmental protection, recycling, durability, and no fading.
The performance of quartz is worse than that of sintered stone, such as open fire is flammable, releases paint smell, high temperature will change color, yellow, aging, can withstand low concentration of acid and alkali, high temperature of 300, not oil resistant, but it is waterproof and scratch resistant performed well.
5. Different applications
Due to its strong performance and plasticity, sintered stone can be further processed. It can be used not only as a decorative material, but also as a main structural material. It is widely used in countertops, desktops, walls, floors, facades and other fields. The main application areas of quartz are countertops and tabletops.
